James Edward Stambaugh

November 13, 1950 — January 21, 2010

James Edward Stambaugh, 59, of Prichard, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Cabell Huntington Hospital. Jim was born November 13, 1950 in Boyd County Kentucky. Jim proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era in the US Army. He was a member of the 1st Independent Missionary Baptist Church of Kenova. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Billy Stambaugh. Other survivors include his mother Maudie Stambaugh of Huntington, a brother, Don Stambaugh of Virginia, a sister Mary Hagley of Huntington, two sons James Jr. and wife Edita, and Jeffrey and wife Anne all of Virginia, one daughter, Laura Mitchell of Prichard. Additional survivors include ten grandchildren Joel Tiatco, Michael Birshing, Amber, Samantha, Timothy, Quinton, and Aaron Stambaugh, Jay, DeLinda, Tracy Dale Mitchell along with a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Tracy M. Stambaugh, two sisters, Janice and Janet, one grandson Benjamin Dale Stambaugh. The family would like to thank Dr. Koury, Nurse Paula, Nurse Ryan and the staff of Cabell Huntington Hospital ICU Unit and the VA Hospital. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2pm Sunday at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Byard Officiating. Burial will be in the Family Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Saturday at the Funeral Home. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donation to the Wayne County Right To Life Attn: Linda Carver PO Box 672.
