James Gordon �Jim� Wright, 83 of Greenup County, Ky passed away Saturday, February 2l, 2009 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. He was born May 16, 1925 in Logan County West Virginia a son to the late Norman and Bertha Kelley Wright. He proudly entered the U.S. Navy Training Center at the Great Lakes Naval Station during World War II. From there, he served aboard the U.S.S. Miami CL-89 and the U.S.S. Texas BB-35 earning 10 Battle Stars and 5 Medals all while serving the Country he dearly loved. Mr. Wright was of the Baptist Faith. He united in marriage to Mrs. Imogene Hulett Spangler Wright who survives. He is also survived by two sons Larry Gene and his wife Tammy Hulett and Gary Joe Hulett, whose wife Fredda has recently passed away. Additional survivors include one brother, Fred and Helen Wright, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, a special nephew Sidney and Jenny Wright, 3 nieces from Louisa, KY, along with a host of other relatives and close friends. Mr. Wright was preceded in death by a son James Curtis Wright, three brothers, Virgil, Everett, and Jessie Wright, along with a sister Opal Lee. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm Thursday, February 26, 2009 at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home with Pastor Richard A. Crum officiating. Burial will follow at the Catlettsburg Cemetery with Military Rites by the Kenova American Legion Post #93. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
