James "Larry" Hensley

James “Larry” Hensley, age 70, passed away Monday, January 1, 2024. He was born June 26, 1953, in Huntington, West Virginia to James and Jean (nee Christian) Hensley. Larry enjoyed traveling and photography but, above all, he loved spending time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Left to celebrate Larry’s life is his beloved wife of 24 years, Debra; his loving children, Craig (Dee) Vargo and April (Chris) Sawicki; his cherished grandchildren, Don, Sabrina, Carolyn, Evelynn and Sylvia; his brothers, Michael (Pamela – dec) Hensley and Richard (Sharon) Hensley; his sister, Jeana (Gregory) Graves; and many extended family and friends. Larry is preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Donald and Alberta Leahy.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the Reger Funeral Chapel, Huntington, by his nephew Steven Graves. Burial will follow in Hensley Family Cemetery, Kenova, WV. Friends may call from noon until service time on Saturday at the Reger Funeral Home.

Prior to Saturday, the family will welcome friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Waite & Son Funeral Home located at 3300 Center Road in Brunswick, Ohio. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00am on January 5th at the Funeral Home.
