James R. Johnson

James R. Johnson, 88 departed from this life December 21, 2016. He graduated from Buffalo High School in Wayne County and served in the Navy during World War II on board the Submarine USS RONCADORE. At the end of the war he married the love of his life Frances M. Arthur Johnson who is his survivor. He is also survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Cimba Johnson and Steven and Joy Johnson with four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He retired from the Huntington VA Medical Center (Engineering Service ) with 35 years’ service. His time here on Earth was spent well as he was a dedicated servant to God, his beloved wife, his mother and father, his precious sons and their wives his grandchildren, his wife’s family and all who knew him. There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 24 at Dock’s Creek Cemetery, Kenova, WV by Pastor Jody Fortner.
