Jerry Chafin

Jerry Chafin, 77, of Kenova, WV passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Monday, July 29, 2024 at the Catlettsburg Cemetery, Catlettsburg, KY. He was born on July 16, 1947 in Logan, W.Va., the son of the late Wallace Greenway Chaffin and Martha Riggs Chafin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Kirk Chafin; and daughter, Angela Finley. He was a retired plant manager. He was a good dad and grandfather and loved all his family. He was a hard worker all his life. He enjoyed golf, arrowhead hunting, fishing, and hunting

He is survived by his children, Jerry Chafin (Amanda) of Chesapeake, Ohio, Andrew Merritt (Tara) of Huntington, W.Va., Bonnie Clark of Catlettsburg, K.Y., Margaret “Marlo” Simpkins of Genoa, W.Va., and Ethel Boden of Kenova, W.Va.; 14 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren; one brother, Phillip Chafin; two sisters, Charlotte Adkins and Judy Drenner both of Huntington, W.Va.; and a special friend and caregiver, Jennifer Saunders. There will no procession to the cemetery. Reger Funeral Chapel, Ceredo, WV is assisting the family. The family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
