John Michael Stanley

John Michael Stanley spent his last moments of life at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, West Virginia after a prolonged battle of various ailments. He is preceded in death by his mother, Tammie Jo Stanley, maternal aunt, Patty Phillips, his maternal grandparents, Martha Anne and Robert Deere, maternal cousin, Katie Bowen, and paternal uncle, Max Amis. He is survived by his father, John Carson Stanley, his other mother, Sherrie Lynn Stanley, his sister, Morgan Marie Stanley, maternal grandmother, Sharon Hodges, paternal grandmother, Theresa Stanley, paternal grandfather, Nicholas Stanley, Cathy and Greg Seagraves (paternal aunt & uncle), Sheila and Dave Gilbert (paternal aunt & uncle) and Kay Stanley Amis, Misty Deere (maternal aunt), Brooke Porter (cousin), Bobby Deere (uncle), Melanie Curnutte (aunt) and other maternal family members. Michael's paternal cousins, Beth Amis, Casey Amis, Jennifer Gilbert, David Gilbert, Nichole Zamarron, Jake Seagraves and Chelsie Seagraves. Pastor Kim Stone will be officiating the graveside service at 1:30 PM at Spring Valley Memorial Gardens. Burial will follow. His best friends were George Alley and Scott Wood. He lived life to the fullest, with no holds barred. He enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, dirt-bike riding and anything that had to do with being outside. He always tried to experience everything that this life had to offer, with no regrets. He is now in a place that God has prepared for him. He is gone, but will never be forgotten. We want to say a special thank you to Debbie, Shaunie, Logan, Cassie and Christa. You all made sure that he had everything that he would ever need when you had him in your care. We want to thank everyone that cared for him when he was at St. Mary's Medical Center. We couldn't ask for better care. The ED, Nursing Service, Registration, Special Procedures, Case Management, every floor in the South Tower that he spent time on, Transport, Radiology, Housekeeping,Infection Control and every department in between. There are so many special people that had a hand in his well-being, they've become the family members that are chosen. Everyone there always asked about him. He was memorable to all of them. We want to thank everyone at Cabell Huntington Hospital for the care he received every time he rolled through the doors. You all did your best for him. We want to thank Cabell County EMS, Jan-Care, and Patriot EMS. You all made sure he got to where he needed to be. You all are wonderful, caring and very professional. We also want to thank everyone that had a hand in his care at the Teays Valley Center. You all made sure he was given great care, dignity and respect. We'll never be able to thank you enough for everything that you did for him while he was there. And, last but not least, we want to thank the entire staff at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He had everything that he needed. Everyone was caring, thoughtful and went above and beyond to make sure that not only he was taken care of, they took care of us.
