John Morris Straub

John Morris Straub, 85, of Ona, WV passed away on December 2, 2024. He was born on March 15, 1939, the son of Jack and Olive Straub of Huntington, WV. John was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Melissa Dawn Nethercutt, and his brother Jerry Straub. He was survived by his wife, Judy, his son Matt (Jennifer) and his five grandchildren: Jessie Nethercutt, Tyler Straub, Megan Nethercutt, Trevor Straub, and Jared Nethercutt.

After graduating from Vinson High School in 1957, John spent four years in the Navy fleet marines as a hospital corpsman. He later retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with 40 plus years. According to John’s directions, private services will be conducted graveside at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Huntington, WV, assisted by Reger Funeral home.
