Kelley Spud Mccomas

Kelley Spud McComas passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018. Born August 20, 1937, to Otis and Alma (Ray) McComas in West Hamlin, WV, Kelley was a longtime resident of Huntington, WV before retiring to Murrell’s Inlet, SC in 2015. Kelley was 81. Kelley’s life was dedicated to his beloved wife of 61 years, Jewell, who preceded him in death in 2017. He is survived by the devoted family he built: a daughter, Kelly D. (Jim) Redick, of Socastee, SC, and a son, Kevin S. (Kimberly), of Milton, WV. He is also survived by three grandchildren and a great-grandchild: Kristopher J. (Stefanie) Redick, son of Kelly D., Kuyler M. McComas (Megan Gillespie) and Kylie E. (Cameron) Knight, both children of Kevin S., and one great-grandchild, Reverie Alice Redick, daughter of Kristopher J. He is also survived by a brother, Paul Joseph (Thelma) McComas, and three sisters, Rose Jaynes, Bonny Porter, and Josephine Fulks. Kelley leaves a legacy of kindness and caring for his family and his community. A retired tax preparer and former owner of Bruce Terminix, Kelley served the Huntington community for his entire professional life. A skilled carpenter and craftsman, Kelley’s work is found in homes throughout the Tri-State community. And as a devoted follower of Christ committed to church and community service, Kelley served as a longtime member of Mays Chapel United Methodist Church of Lavalette, WV, and was a current member of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach, SC. Kelley will be lovingly remembered by all those that knew him. Friends and family can celebrate his life by attending visitation on Thursday, December 6, 2018, from 6 to 8 P.M. at Reger Funeral Home and Chapel in Huntington, WV. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 7, 2018, at 11 A.M. at Reger Funeral Home and Chapel by his longtime friend and former pastor, Bob Talbert.
