Kenny Marshell Townsend

Kenny Marshell Townsend entered his earthly body on November 6th, 1992 in Huntington, West Virginia. He left his earthly body on March 22nd, 2023 to join his creator in Heaven above. He was a young 30 years old, and was a beloved brother, son, and a friend to many.

Kenny graduated from Wayne High School in 2011 and began studies at Marshall University the same year. While at Marshall, he joined the fraternity Sigma Tau Gamma, and made countless friends and memories. He was especially close to his ‘lil’ Zac Cohen, who sadly passed away in 2018. Kenny worked at the Amazon call center in Huntington, WV for 5 years, where he made countless friends.

Kenny always welded a smile though the countless adventures he had while on this Earth. He loved reading books, watching movies, playing online gaming, was a huge Star Wars fan, and played Dungeons and Dragons. He was also an amazing cat dad to Luna.

Kenny had a huge family, which includes those though blood relations, foster care, and his brothers at STG. Kenny was born to Leonard (deceased) and Alice Townsend of Huntington, WV and was then cared for and loved by Roake and Patricia Mounts of Wayne, WV from 1998. He considered everyone, from both sides, his family.

Kenny is survived by his sister Lova (Bryan) Ousley, parents Roake and Patricia Mounts, brothers: James Mounts, Justin (Krystal) Mounts, Sean (Colleen) Mounts, and Chris Mounts. Also, countless numbers of aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, and his beloved cat Luna.

Kenny was preceded in death by his biological father Leonard Townsend, grandfather James Edgar Mounts, grandmothers Wynna Fay Hall-Mounts and Jane Maria Martinis, as well as many aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 28th from 6p-8p and on Wednesday March 29th from 6p-8p at the Reger Funeral Home located in Huntington, West Virginia.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday March 30th at 12p at the Reger Funeral Chapel, Huntington.

Kenny’s final resting place will be at the Spring Valley Memory Gardens.
