Larry Lee Beuhring, 85, of Chesapeake, Ohio passed away at Hospice House of Huntington June 12, 2022. He was born on April 27, 1937 to the late Harold and Marceline Beuhring. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of forty-six years, Janice Beuhring. He is survived by three daughters: Karen Corns of Titusville, FL, Beverly Thornburgh (Jack) of Valrico, FL, and Laura Beuhring (Vivian Sanchez) of Glasgow, KY. He is also survived by his brother, Jim Beuhring (Melinda) of Huntington, his sister Donna King of Columbus, OH, his brother-in-law Greg Martin, as well as four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and his dear friends, Judy Given and Ben Coleman. He was proud of his service in the WV National Guard as an artillery unit fire control director. After retiring from International Nickel Co. as an inspector of finished products, he became a Certified General Appraiser licensed in OH, KY and WV. He enjoyed being an expert witness in hearings for many imminent domain cases. In addition to working his regular job at the Nickel plant, Larry became a skilled carpenter and used those skills to build the family home in Wayne County. He also rehabilitated distressed properties and built several new homes as investment properties. He later moved the family to a working farm in Lawrence County, Ohio. His interest in genealogy resulted in researching the Beuhring family from its origins in Germany, to focusing on Frederick George Louis Beuhring, who established business and land interests in the area that would later become Huntington, WV. Larry donated a large volume of Beuhring Family history that is now available at the Marshall University Library. He was the sole caretaker of his rose garden in Chesapeake, OH. At its height, there were seventy-five roses adding color to the neighborhood. He developed a talent for oil painting that drew praise from all who saw his art. Selected paintings were put on public display at the Chesapeake Library and other venues. Many of those paintings now decorate the homes of family and friends. At a ceremony in 2021, Larry was awarded his 50-year membership pin by Masonic Lodge #60 at Whites Creek, Prichard, WV. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Monday at the Reger Funeral Chapel, Huntington by Pastor Keith Wiebe, Jr.. Burial will follow in Woodmere Cemetery.
