Laura Lee (Spinicci) Vanston, RN., 77, of Huntington, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018. She was the widow of Gerald Vanston, Md. Surviving are her three children, Jerry Vanston and wife, Carrie of Huntington, W.Va., Lisa Thorpe and husband, Joe of Eldersburg, Md., and Richard Vanston of Columbia, Md.; her four grandchildren, Benjamin and Caitlin Vanston of Huntington, W.Va., Maria and Ian Thorpe of Eldersburg, Md.; her brother, Robert Spinicci of Bradenton, Fl.; her sister, Barbara Sharratta and husband James of Cleveland, Ohio; her sister-in-law, Maurita Hogan, Midlothian, Va.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruno and Anna Spinicci of Swoyersville, Pa. A Funeral Liturgy will be conducted on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 10 am at St. Ann's Basilica, 1233 St. Ann Street, Scranton, Pa. 18504. Rite of Committal will follow at Cathedral Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 am to 9:45 am at the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home, 1240 St. Ann Street, Scranton, Pa. 18504. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Laura's name to St Ann's in Scranton or Luzerne, the American Red Cross or the Big Green Scholarship Foundation.
