Laura Patricia "Pat" Mayes

Laura Patricia 'Pat' Mayes, 73, of Huntington, wife of William R. Mayes, passed away Tuesday January 20, 2015 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Monday at the White Chapel Mausoleum, Barboursville. Burial will follow. She was born March 21, 1941 in Cabell County, WV, to the late Homer T. and Virginia Lee Elkins Salmons. Pat was a retired LPN with St. Mary's Medical Center and a member of the American Legion Post 93 of Kenova Auxiliary. She also raised over 30 foster children. In addition to her husband she is survived by three daughters and sons in law Cathy and Todd Rowe, Sherri and Travis Jenkins and Kimmy and Kevin Phillips; five grandchildren Brandi Mayes, William M. Mayes, Carrie Jenkins, Ricky Jenkins and Emily Phillips; two brothers Howard Salmons and Tommy Salmons and four dogs including her loyal companion 'Andy'. There will be no visitation or procession to the cemetery. Reger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
