LENORA ARETHA LEWIS FULWOOD, 77, who passed away on April 23, 2005, at St. Mary's Medical Center after a long illness. Lenora was born December 14, 1927, the daughter of the late Lenoard Lewis and Eva Manggrum and granddaughter of Rev. A.D. Lewis. Rev. A.D. Lewis was a Baptist minister who served throughout West Virginia and Virginia, and was founder of the A.D. Lewis Community Center. Mrs. Fulwood attended Kentucky State College and graduated from West Virginia State College with a degree in music. She was a devoted music teacher at Douglass High School, and Simms, Oley, Monroe and Spring Hill Elementary schools for a period of 30 years. Lenora was an organist for Ebenezer Methodist Church, First Baptist Church and Spring Valley Presbyterian Church for 22 years. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Albert D. Fulwood; two daughters, Valerie Stubblefield (Cornell) and Angela Fulwood, both of Huntington, W.Va.; a sister, Latelle Lewis Vaughan (Newman) of Durham, N.C.; two grandchildren, Dennis Griffin of Columbus, Ohio, and Freddie Griffin of Huntington; several nieces and nephews, Sherrie Soloman, Janet Lee, Cherese Lee, Carol Vaughan Crocker, Cynthia Lewis Evans and Langston Lewis Jr.; and also a host of other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Langston Lewis and a sister, Celeste Lewis. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Spring Valley Presbyterian Church by Rev. Jeffery Myers. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the church. Reger Funeral Home, Huntington, is in charge of arrangements.
