Leon Robert Meade

Leon Robert Meade, 87, of Huntington, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 7:00 pm at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Bob Withers. Burial will be on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 11:00 am at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Leon was a retired production foreman for Allied Chemical and a veteran of the US Army having served in WW II. He was a member of 7th Avenue Baptist Church. Leon was born on February 17, 1925 in Altoona, PA., the son of the late Ray and Loretto Kelly Meade. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Edith Irene Simpkins Meade He is survived by his son and daughter in law: Michael “Mike” and Pamela Meade of Catlettsburg, Ky. Three grandchildren: Katie, Sarah and Christopher Meade. One brother: Ronald David Meade of Elizabethtown, KY. A special nieces and nephew: Carolyn and Hale Miller.
