Linda Marlene Canterbury

Linda Marlene (Halstead) Canterbury, 61, of Charleston, WV formerly of Huntington, WV died Monday, September 21, 2009 at the CAMC Memorial Hospital. She was born October 5, 1947 in Huntington, WV a daughter to the late Clayton Miller and Ruby Jewel (Tooley) Halstead. She united in marriage to Shirl Canterbury who preceded her in death. Mrs. Canterbury is survived by seven daughters, Kim and Michael Wade Gilkerson of Ceredo, Patricia and Tony Kipp of Huntington, Summer and James Elmer of Fort Hood, TX, Nicole and Roger McCormick of Charleston, Virginia Frye of Eldorado, KS, Brenda Sorrell and fianc� Bruce Himes of Leesburg, FL, and Sarah Rowland of Greenville, SC; four sons, James Sterba of Huntington, Keith Vanburen of White Sulphur Springs, WV, Benjamin Childers of Charleston and Jerry Childers also of Charleston. Additional survivors include a brother, Amos Ricky and Cindy Halstead of Slidell, LA and a sister Brenda and Gene Watkins of Jacksonville, FL. She also leaves behind eighteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren along with a host of other nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Christian Cemetery in Prichard, WV with Rev. Roy Akers officiating.
