Lyda Ruth Slone

Lyda Ruth Slone, 91 of Hixson, TN., went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 8, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the 7th Avenue Baptist Church in Huntington, WV at 1:00 pm Lyda was born on November 8, 1919 in Blain, KY the daughter of the late Charles and Mollie Morris In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Christopher Slone and three sisters Betty Plummer, Pauline Hamilton and Mary Virginia Fyffe She is survived by her two daughters and son in law; Susan and Jim Micka and Diane Trujillo of Chattanooga TN Three grandsons: Patrick Kelley of Atlanta, GA., Shawn Kelley of Chickamauga, Ga. and Damian Alvarado of Denver, Co. Three great granddaughters: Savannah Kelley, Sylvia Alvarado and Olivia Micka and one great grandson: Ethan Johnson and many cousins,nephews,nieces and friends She was a member of the One Accord Community Church; Red Bank, TN and a former member of the 7th Avenue Baptist Church The family wishes to thank all the staff of Wellington Place and the wonderful care she received. Also thanks to her special hospice nurse, Amy and caretaker Shannon and Dr. Parkhurst. You were truly Gods hands and feet in our time of need. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her, but rejoice that her suffering is over.
