Mabel Pillion, 82, of Huntington, WV, passed away on Monday, April 7th, at the Woodlands Retirement Community. Mabel was born on February 7, 1943 in New Boston, OH to Leroy and Burdelle (Armstrong) Chandler. She was a 1961 graduate of Vinson High School where she was a cheerleader and Miss Vinsonian. She was a loving daughter, sister and wife, and an adored aunt to her nieces and nephew. Mabel worked as a real estate agent for many years in Florida and operated areal estate appraisal company in Tallahassee with her husband John (Jack) Pillion. Mabel and Jack retired in 2005 and moved to the Villages, FL where they enjoyed playing golf and making many friends in retirement. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Jack Pillion, her loving husband of 26 years. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Kay Chandler of Huntington; and sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Ron Preston of Barnesville, OH; as well as six nieces and a nephew, Amy (Bruce) Mosser, Bret (Leanna) Preston, Vicky (Steve) Tardy, Cathy (Tom) Butler, Cindy (Jerry) Blackwell, Ronna (Rick) Allen, and Jane (Todd) Chambers. She also is remembered lovingly by her former neighbors and friends from the Villages and her very dear friend, Mimi Boyette of Whigham, GA. The family would like to thank the staff of Woodlands Retirement Community and Hospice of Huntington. Special thank you to Vicky Tardy and Bret Preston Mabel’s niece and nephew for their devotion and caring for Mabel during the last few years of Mabel’s life, and to Peggy Pollard for her care and visits to Mabel. According to Mabel’s wishes we will be having a private family service. Mabel’s care has been entrusted to Reger Funeral Home of Huntington.
