Margaret C. Bounds

MARGARET C. BOUNDS, 79, of Port St Lucie FL, passed away Saturday June 10, 2017 at Treasure Coast Hospice House Fort Pierce, FL. She was born August 20, 1937 at Montrose WV. She was the daughter of the late Edward Ray Compton and Vita Poling Compton Kelley. She graduated with honors from Prince George’s Community College of MD on December 29, 1975 with an Associates Degree in Arts. She was a registered nurse licensed in Maryland and Florida. Her career was devoted to geriatrics. She worked at a number of nursing homes in Maryland and Florida. She was director of nursing at several facilities. Her passions included her family, patients, music, bridge, flowers, bright colors, knitting and crocheting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Emma C. Poling, who raised her with her mother Vita after the death of Margaret’s father, step-father Elim H. Kelley, infant brother Edward Ray Compton Jr, a sister and brother in law Mary Lea and Johnny Nelson, a sister in law Ellen Compton, and a niece Barbara Susan Nelson. Survivors include her husband of sixty years J. Robert Bounds, children Robert E Bounds of Miramar Fl, Rachel Fabrizio and husband John of Davenport Fl, and Daniel P. Bounds of Arnold MD grandchildren Joseph Culbreth of Fort Pierce FL, Brian and wife Tina Culbreth of Pasadena MD, Shannon Culbreth of Bushwood Md, Robert and wife Valerie Bounds of West Palm Beach FL. Diane Cortright of Port St Lucie FL, John Fabrizio Jr, James Fabrizio and William Fabrizio all of Davenport FL; great grandchildren Piper Cortright of Port St Lucie FL, Scarlet Bounds and Cameron Bounds both of West Palm Beach, FL, Addison and Bailee Phetteplace of Bushwood Md, and Tristan Culbreth and Everley Beavers of Pasadena MD; brother Hubert Compton of Huntington, WV , niece Janet and Jaques Williams of Morgantown, WV, niece Jane and Ray Francis of Alma, Michigan, nephew David Compton and niece Becky Compton both of Huntington, WV and several great nieces and nephews. A committal service will be conducted at 2:00 PM October 14, 2017 at the Leading Creek Primitive Baptist Cemetery at Montrose WV. Reger Funeral Home is assisting the family.
