Peg Fitzgerald, 88, of St. Clair Township, PA, widow of Harry Fitzgerald, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the St. Claire Memorial Hospital. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park. Peg was born in Huntington, WV on January 21, 1927 the daughter of the late Nick Polis and Marguerite McCallister Lewis. Peg was a graduate of St. Mary’s Nursing School RN program. Described by those who knew her as “one of a kind” she went on to Marshall University, and later University of Pittsburgh, and spent years assisting Harry in the coal industry. Peg raised four boys Daniel, Timothy, Patrick and Brian, whom preceded her in death. In her life she was an accomplished seamstress and international cook and certified real estate sales agent. The matriarch of the Fitzgerald’s she was always as sharp as a box of # 2 pencils. She was firm but a guiding light for all; a symbol of independence until the end and a devout Catholic. Survived by Daniel David and Wanda Fitzgerald of Blairsville, PA. Timothy Sean Fitzgerald of Tulsa, Ok. Patrick Kevin and Paula Fitzgerald of North Brunswick, NJ. Grandchildren: Joshua, Liam, Brett, Spencer Patrick and Devin Michael. Friends may call from 6-7 PM Monday, October 2, 2015 at the Reger Funeral Home.
