MARIAN MURPHY, 89, of Huntington, W.Va., peacefully passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at St. Mary's Medical Center. Marian was born August 10, 1928, to William and Helen Zwick Siereveld. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, she had been a Huntington resident since 1964. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Louis Raisovich, and her second husband, H. John Murphy, Jr. She leaves behind a daughter, Lisa Raisovich; a son, Dr. Patrick M. Murphy, and daughter-in-law, Dr. Valerie Nix; and two grandsons, George Michael Roy Jr. (Samantha Roy) and Kieran Patrick Murphy. In addition, she is survived by one brother, William Siereveld; and cousin, Maureen (and Steve) Shinkle. Marian was a well-known local artist and her paintings of barns, houses, and country landscapes grace the walls of galleries and private homes across the area. Marian attended the University of Cincinnati and was a graduate of the Art Academy of Cincinnati; in her earlier years, she worked as a layout artist in the ad departments of major stores in the Cincinnati area, including Pogue's, Shillito's, and McAlpin's. She will be missed by her many relatives and friends. Interment was at Rose Hill Burial Park, Ashland, Ky. on November 30, 2017.
