Mary E. Kelley

Mary E. Kelley, 79, of Ceredo passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 31, 2007. She was born March 1, 1928 in Ceredo to the late Dewey and Mamie Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James A. Kelley, Sr., a grand daughter Tonya Lee Moyers, and a grandson Benjamin Alexander Dillon. Mrs. Kelley was a member of the Ceredo Christian Baptist Church. She was employed by the Wayne County Board of Education at Ceredo Grade School for several years and was always politically active and encouraged her family to register to vote. She is survived by three sons and their families, James Jr. and Donna Kelley of Huntington, Tommie and Bonnie Kelley of Ceredo and Danny Kelley of Ceredo; and five daughters, Patricia Sirop and her husband Bob of FL, Sherry Kearns, Peggy Bailey, Brenda Caldwell, and Joyce Howard all of Ceredo. Mrs. Kelley also leaves behind twenty five grandchildren and thirty two great grandchildren all whom she dearly loved. Additional survivors include two sisters and six brothers along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home with Rev. Cleo Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Friday at the Funeral Home.
