MARY MARGARET CARROLL of Huntington, W.Va., died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, in St. Mary?s Medical Center after a short illness. She was a loving mother and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was born in Peru, Ind., the daughter of the late Charles C. and Margaret Burke. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles in 1953; a brother, Charles Burke in 1974; and her husband, William T. Carroll in 1985. The matriarch of a large, close-knit family, she is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Patricia and Bill Spensky of Huntington, Jean Marie and Ronald Schmid of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., Maureen and Rocco Carbone of Huntington and Mary Margaret Carroll and James Curis of Chapel Hill, N.C.; two sons and one daughter-in-law, William and Pamela Carroll of South Point, Ohio, and Michael Carroll of Huntington; and eight grandchildren and spouse, Billy and Mark Carroll, Meghan and Burke Spensky, Chris and Angela Schmid, Ann Schmid and Justin and Cole Carroll Curis. She is also survived by a special nephew, John Burke of Winnetka, Ill.; niece, Kathryn Ann Munsey of Springfield, Mo.; and sister-in-law, Mary Jean Carroll of McKeesport, Pa. She was very active in the Catholic community and was a past Grand Regent of the Catholic Daughters. She devoted her life to raising and mentoring her six children. A Funeral Liturgy will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Huntington. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Reger Funeral Home. The rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m.
