Mary Frances Staley, 96 of Kenova, WV passed peacefully at her home on April 22, 2025. “Frankie” was born on April 20th, 1929 to the late Ross and Agnes Lewis. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Barry Staley and her two sons, Raymond Barry “Junebug” Staley, Jr. and Roger Lee Staley. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Karen Clagg, son in law James Robert Clagg, grandson William Justin Clagg (Danielle), great-grandchildren Charlotte Clagg, Willa Clagg, and Colton Clagg. She is survived through Junebug’s family, including daughter in law Jean and their three children, special grandson Nathan Ray Staley (Sandra Staley), great grandson Blake Staley, great granddaughter Remi Staley, granddaughter Meredith Shepard, and Michael Ferguson. Roger’s family that survive her include daughter in law Janice Staley, granddaughters Amy Knight (Joey), Rachel Staley and Bari Mays. Great grandchildren Shea Speck (Josh) Evan Knight, Matthew Knight, Alec Minton, Lani Minton, Abby Holbrook (Sam), Maddy Mays and great grandson Kaidyn Kingery. She is also survived by her sister Fern Fitzpatrick Wilson (Jim), and preceded in death by her sisters Anna Marie Layman and Arbutus Jones.

In 1946, Frankie and Barry started Staley’s Dairy and ran a milk route in Kenova and Ceredo. They ran Staley’s Dairy until Barry became disabled due to diabetes. They replaced the dairy cows with beef cows. She continued to raise beef cattle after Barry’s death in 1991. In 1964, she went to work at American National Rubber in Ceredo, WV where she retired. Frankie had many talents and could do anything that she set her mind to do. She was a great cook, especially known for her fried chicken and homemade ice cream. She loved quilting, gardening and planting flowers. She also loved breeding gamefowl and hunting coon hounds, winning many blue ribbons and trophies over the years. She will be greatly missed.Visitation will be held at Reger Funeral Home in Huntington, WV on Sunday April 27, 2025 from 1-3pm with Pastor John Hathaway conducting the funeral service beginning at 3 pm. Burial will follow at Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova, WV.
