Matthew Nathaniel Friend

Matthew Nathaniel Friend, 28, of Huntington, WV passed away on Sunday May 5, 2024 at Cabel Huntington Hospital.

He was born on April 6, 1996 in Logan, WV the son of Harold Scales and Valeri Brown Friend.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his step mother Phyllis Ferrell, brothers and their families: Justin, Danielle, Mahayla, Sophia and Garvin, Jeremy, Misty, Deontae’, M’Kya, Kayden, Jaxson, Morgan, Deontrei’, Bill Beheler, Sammy, Ciera, Damon, Haley, Kim,Rodney,Erica,Davia,Deonte,Ciera, Amya and William, Step brothers:Mikey,Nathan,Rayn and Qiana. Aunts and uncle: DebraAnn, Hannah and Vinson.

Cousins: Tyrone, Austin and Ciera and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He is also survived by his Spiritual Advisor: Eudora Moore-Howard.

Matthew had a smile that would light up the room and never meet a stranger and was willing to help anyone. He loved his family and friends and was a devoted care giver to his father.

He had a personality that endeared him to everyone he met.

Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 6:00pm at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, 2582 Rt. 65, Matewan, WV
