Maxine Bowen

Maxine Bowen, 93, of Ashland, KY., formerly of Kenova, WV went to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 24, 2015. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Randy Jeffers and Rev. Bill Napier on Wednesday January 28, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Park Circle Free Will Baptist Church, 816 13th Street, Kenova, WV. Burial will follow at Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova, WV Maxine was born in Olive Hill, KY., November 13th, 1921 the daughter of the late John and Lavina Cheek. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Albert Bowen, grandson David Dolen Jr., three sons in laws: Bob Younce, Harrison Smith and Collie Holton Jr., and fifteen brothers and sisters. Maxine was a member of Park Circle Free Will Baptist Church of Kenova, WV for 51 years where she served as secretary for her Sunday school class and a charter member of the ladies auxiliary. She is survived by her children: Jewel Holton, Sonny (Helen) Bowen, Bonnie Younce, Pamela (David) Dolen and Alisa (Chris) Hunter. One sister; Austie Jewel Hoskins. Eleven grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews that loved her dearly. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved her. Pallbearers will be grandsons; Robby Younce, Mark and Joey Smith, Frankie Bowen, Timmy Cornwell and Kaleb Newman.
