Merrill John Scarberry

Merrill John Scarberry, “Dad” 87 of Huntington, WV passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, January 20 at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Will Basham. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Mr. Scarberry was born January 28, 1929 in Cabell County, WV a son of the late Ivan M. Scarberry and Violena Tassen Scarberry McCallister. He was retired from CSX Railroad after 46 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lavonia Faye Jarrell Scarberry, one brother, Lloyd Richard Scarberry and one sister Wanda Von Scarberry King. Survivors include one brother, Carl Scarberry , one sister Beulah Scarberry Lauhon both of Barboursville, WV, seven children: Kathy (James) Hughes of South Point, OH, Norman (Jada) Scarberry of Huntington WV , Bruce (Teresa) Scarberry of Barboursville, WV, Lisa Scarberry of Huntington, WV, Tanya Scarberry and Wes Sparks of Pedro, OH, Robert (Euna) Jarrell of Huntington, WV and Ann Weaver of Huntington, WV, 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. His family would like to thank the “Angels” of Hospice for the care given to their Dad.
