Mildred �Millie� Evelyn Hatton Rice, 85, of Huntington, WV left her earthly home and entered her heavenly home July 4, 2008. Millie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and Christian. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Ceredo and the Jewel Sunday School Class, and she was active for many years in the church�s �Funagers� group. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 60 years, Robert M. Rice, her parents, John and Effie Hatton, in-laws Robert H. and Garnie B. Kelley Rice, a special granddaughter Larin Elizabeth Rice and three brothers, John Hatton Jr., Ralph Hatton, and Richard �Dick� Hatton. Surviving are four children and their families, Bob and Janne Rice, Mike Rice and Tammy Wright, Ron and Peggy Rice, and Tina and Mike Clem; 10 grandchildren and their families, Jennifer Rice, Jocelyn and Brian Holden and Rob and Kristen Rice all of North Carolina, Aaron Rice of Boston, Mass., Ryan and Vallery Rice and Holly Rice of Huntington, WV, Kaitlyn Clem of PA, Seth Rice of Huntington, Savannah Clem of PA and Jonathan Rice of Huntington. Six great-grandchildren, Sarai Rice, Carlie Holden, Savannah Rice, and Addison Holden of NC, David Joseph Rice of Huntington, and Luke Holden of NC. Also surviving are four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Betty Ann �Tootle� Randgard, Phyllis and Bill Morrison, Patti Bryan and Peggy and Wendell Roberts, and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Bob Hatton and Charles �Chuck� and Diane Hatton, as well as many nieces and nephews. Millie also leave behind special friends Don and Dorothy McDowell, Phyllis and corky Huffman, Bob and Mary Chapman, Rhonda Davis, and a special caregiver, Lucy Thompson. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Ceredo, WV at 10:00 a.m. on Monday July 7, 2008 with Pastor Rodney Hale and Don McDowell officiating. Visitation will be Sunday July 6, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. Pallbearers will be the Deacons of First Baptist Church of Ceredo. Burial will follow at Spring Valley Memory Gardens. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Chateau Grove and to the doctors and staff of Hospice House for all the care, love and support they have shown their parents and the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington or First Baptist Church Ceredo Youth Fund. Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
