Mildred Helen Adkins, 92, of Huntington, passed away Tuesday February 7, 2017 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Saturday at Sunshine Freewill Baptist Church by Pastor Bob Fowler, her son in law and pastor of Trinity Freewill Baptist Church and Pastor Jody Fortner. Burial will follow in Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington. She was born November 15, 1924 in Hager, WV, a daughter of the late James M. and Jenny Bell Smith Lambert. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sunshine Freewill Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was active with the Sunshine Seniors. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her siblings Reba, Frank, George, Guy, Edgar and Hobert. Survivors include her husband of 72 years Robert G. Adkins; son and daughter in law Robert G. Adkins, Jr. and Susan Adkins of Huntington; two daughters and a son in law Karen S. Skeens and Sharon K. and Bobby Fowler all of Huntington; grandchildren Robert G. Adkins, III (fianc Brittaney Bailey), Tina Adkins Marquis (Ben), Bobby Joe Fowler, Brian L. Skeens, Stephen Fowler (Mary), Amy Fowler May (Steve) and Jason L. Skeens (Tiffany); great grandchildren Breanna L. Skeens Hogsett (Cody), Lily Adkins, Caleb Fowler, Eli Fowler, Ryan Marquis, Jacob Skeens, Artie Caprino, Aubrey May, Liam Marquis, Blake May, Nathan Marquis, Mullady Fowler and Robert G. “Qade” Adkins, IV; great great grandchildren Jakoby Hogsett and Tayten Hogsett; several nieces and nephews and a host of church family and friends.
