Mr. John Michael Wisinsky

John Michael Wisinsky, 58, of Ashton, WV, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013 at St. Mary’s Medical Center after three years and five days courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Monday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Fr. Jim Sobus. He was born on August 4, 1954 in Huntington, WV, a son of Thelma Jones Wisinsky of Barboursville and the late Walter Christopher Wisinsky. He was a twenty five year employee of St. Mary’s Medical Center in Radiology and Material Management, having never missed a day of work until he was diagnosed with cancer. He was a 1972 graduate of Barboursville High School; attended Marshall University; was a ten gallon American Red Cross Donor; a twenty five year supporter of the United Way; a Four H leader in Mason County; the 2010 Spirit of St. Mary’s Medical Center Employee of the Year Award and a participant in the Relay for Life. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of 32 years Sheila Meadows Wisinsky, a daughter: Hannah Rose Wisinsky of Huntington, a sister and brother in law: Sandy and Mike Lane of Grand Rapids , MI; several nieces and nephews including a special niece: Anna Lewis Queen of Huntington, a sister in law: Donna Johnson and her husband Shawn, a brother in law; Cork Meadows and special friends; Rita and Ernie Barker, Maggi Perl, Becky Compton, and all his St. Mary’s family Friends may call from 6-8 pm Sunday March 10, 2013 at the Reger Funeral Home Huntington.
