Muriel “Mimi” Stuart, 79 of Louisa, KY, formerly of Huntington, WV, a “Loving Mother, Grandmother and Aunt, who loved gathering with her family and creating lasting memories”, left to be with Jesus, October 8, 2013 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. She was born October 5, 1934 in Crum, WV a daughter of the late William and Julina Corns Varney. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rawlins Stuart; brothers: Morris Varney, Jim Varney, Clayton Varney and sisters: Josephine Jewell, and Opal Opal Leflar and Halcy Maynard, the father of her children. Muriel was a member of Westmoreland Baptist Church, the Storytellers League, the Sewing Guild and Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her son Brent (Sharon) Maynard, and her daughter Kimberly (Dan) Huff; four grandchildren: Larissa Roberts, Katie Roberts, Cameron Maynard, William Maynard; five great-grandchildren: Austin, Baden, Kaden, Ayden, and Aleaha; one brother, David Varney; two sisters, Blanche Marcum and Gladys “Happy” Anderson; in addition, special friends, Sue Lloyd, Nancy and Rudy Peters. Mimi’s traditions and memory will continue to live on through her children and grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2013 by Pastor C. J. Adkins, at Westmoreland Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Westmoreland Baptist Church, Pastor’s Discretionary Fund: 3401 Hughes St. Huntington, WV 25704.
