Myrtle Gue Burgess, 88, of Kenova died Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington. She was born March 31, 1920 in Lincoln County a daughter to the late Frank and Nellie (Wilson) Gue. Mrs. Burgess was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband James Edward Burgess. She was a member of the Church of God. Mrs. Burgess is survived by a daughter, Nellie and her husband Simon Adkins of Kenova; eight grandchildren, Belinda Philip, Bonita Moore, Charles Adkins, Patricia Arnett, Ernie Duvall, Mary Scarberry, James Scarberry, and Lee Scarberry; seven great-grandchildren, Amanda Kirkland, Courtnie Wilson, Joey Hammond, Kristina Stewart, Dustin Duvall, Cody Duvall, and Cameron Arnett; and four great-great grandchildren, Carson Wilson, Abagail Wilson, Jenna Stewart, and Kaydin Hammond along with a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Burgess was preceded in death by two children, �Mary� Phillis Scarberry and James �Jimboy� Burgess along with four brothers and sisters, Donald Gue, Roy Gue, Eunice Gue, and Tinny Hamm. Funeral services for Mrs. Burgess will be conducted at 1:00pm Saturday at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Mays officiating. Burial will follow in the Docks Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9pm Friday at the Funeral Home.
