Nada Holland Mckenzie

Nada Holland McKenzie, 86 of Ceredo passed away Sunday November 25, 2012 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House with family by her side. She was born November 27, 1925 to the late Charles and Eva Holland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Ernest McKenzie; two sisters Reba Hatten and Ada �Bertie� Holland, and her brother Charles Holland Jr. She is survived by two sisters; Charlotte (Robert) Ullom of Huntington and Garnet (Robert) Bryant of Ceredo, with whom she made her home, also many nieces, nephews and friends whom she loved dearly. Nada worked several years for Thacker�s Variety Store and Capeharts & Browns Jewelry stores in Kenova, WV. She was a Christian lady who loved to attend church, when she was able, and attended many churches in this area, including Westmoreland Baptist Church, where she was a member. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Sallie Smith, Christy Pancake, Dorothy Smith, Missy Payton, Kelley Marshall, Karen Lemaster, Sharon McNeely and Tina Ellis, for the wonderful care they gave her, but most of all for the genuine love they showed her: �To know Nada, was to love her.� Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington, P.O. Box 464, Huntington, WV 25709, or to Westmoreland Baptist Church, 3401 Hughes St., Huntington WV 25704. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Nov. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home, in Ceredo, WV. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 28th at Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home with Dr. C.J. Adkins officiating and Rev. Cleo Watson assisting. Burial will follow in Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova.
