Nellie Adkins

Nellie Adkins, 99, of Ceredo, WV, widow of Johnnie Adkins died Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at the Hollbrook Nursing Home in Buckhannon, WV. She was born on December 17, 1908 in Stiltner, WV a daughter to the late Pearlina (Adams) and John Kirk Napier. She worked at Cammack Children School and Camden Park as a Cook. She is a member of the Philadelphia United Baptist Church, Lavalette, WV. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Adkins, two grandsons, Larry E. and William Keith Adkins. Survivors include a son John Adkins Jr. and his wife Diane, of Jackson, OH; a daughter in law Nina Mae Adkins; grandchildren John David and wife Sidney, Kenneth R. and wife Frances, Deborah and husband Tucker Lynch, and Shawn Adkins. Mrs. Adkins also leaves behind eleven great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren all whom she loved very much. Funeral services will be 11am Friday at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home with Rev. Don Napier and Rev. Glen Kiah Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Valley Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-9pm Thursday at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home.
