Nina Mae Adkins

Nina Mae Adkins, 79, of Westmoreland passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at the St. Mary�s Medical Center in Huntington. She was born February 15, 1931 in Wayne County to the late Wilbur and Vicie (Preston) Saulton. She united in marriage to Kenneth Adkins who preceded her in death. To this union were born Kenneth (Frances) Adkins, Debbie (Tucker) Lynch, Larry Adkins, who also preceded her in death, and Shawn (Kimberly Bartram) Adkins. Mrs. Adkins is survived by sisters Anna Faye Toney and Edna (Lawrence) Thompson, and a brother Jerry (Libby) Saulton, along with grandchildren Kenny Ray Adkins, Nicholas Adkins, Cody Lynch, Tanner Lynch, and Kathy (Brandon)Adkins Dudding. Other survivors include her dear friends Nellie Ettling and Rachel Lackey along with a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Adkins was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking for her family, listening to Gospel music, and sewing. She was a member of the Westmoreland Baptist Church and the Choir, Westmoreland Womens Club, American Business Womens Club, Red Hats, and was Past Worthy Matron of Marcum Chapter of the Eastern Star, who will conducting a service at the church beginning at 11:00am. Mrs. Adkins worked many years at the family owned Kenneth Adkins & Sons Insurance Agency. Funeral services will be at Westmoreland Baptist Church, Monday, November 8th at 1:00pm with Pastor C.J. Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Valley Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00am until time of the services.
