Opal Violet Thacker

Opal Violet Thacker, 94, of Huntington, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 8, 2011 Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 3:00 pm at the Reger Funeral Home by Pastor Randy Lavender. Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Cemetery, Wayne, WV. Opal was born on September 12, 1916 in Wayne County, WV the daughter of the late O Jennings Smith and Meda Allen Smith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Pearly Estil Thacker and six brothers and two sisters. She was a homemaker and a member of the Jackson Avenue Church of God Holiness and a FAITHFULL Christian. She is survived by her daughter: Sandra Chapman and four grandchildren: Susan Perdue, Stanley Chapman, Sheldon Chapman and Shawn Chapman and eleven grandchildren: Brittany, Ashley, Robert and Ethan Perdue. Andrew, Hannah, Joshua, Alexander, Hunter and Noah Chapman and Cheyenne Arbogast. And one great great grandchild: James Sperry Friends may call from 5-7 pm Sunday at the Reger Funeral Home.
