Patricia Jobe Bias

June 5, 1951 — July 26, 2013

Patricia Diane Jobe Bias, 62, of Lavalette, WV, went to be with her lord on Friday, July 26, 2013. Pat was born June 5, 1951 in Huntington to Ruth Kerns Jobe and the late Robert P. Jobe. In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband George Bias and stepson David Bias of Lavalette: stepson Bill Bias, his wife Tammy, and children Amber, Austin and Sarah of Huntsville, Alabama; lifelong best friend/sister Patricia Smith Stinnett; very special friends Laura Blake, Peggy Hutchinson, Sharon Whitley, Debbie McIntyre, Wilma Skeen, Arlene Damron and their families: her church family; her neighbors: physician/friend Dr. Kevin McCann and many others. A graduate of Buffalo High School and Marshall University, Pat’s sole purpose in this life was to serve others. She nurtured nearly 1,000 students during her 34 years of teaching at Lavalette Elementary School. She touched the lives of hundreds of people for whom she catered their wedding, shower, anniversary, retirement, birthday,or other celebration of life. She was a lifelong active member of Lavalette United Methodist Church and Lavalette Women’s Club. She was the tireless caregiver for her beloved mother Ruth and devoted wife to George, her cherished husband of 24 years. She was loving mother to David and Bill as well as to the children of all her dear friends. She provided support to many people during both joy and sadness. She was known for her hugs which could ease sorrow and pain with just one squeeze of her strong arms around you. Her last breath of life were spent in counseling a neighbor. “ As each has received a gift, use it to serve on another…as one who serves by the strength that God supplies…” I Peter 4:10-11. She will be missed by the countless many for whom she blessed with her gift of servitude. Visitation will be Sunday, July 28, 2013 from 6-8 pm at the Reger Funeral Home. Reverend Carol McKay will conduct the funeral service Monday, July 29, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Lavalette United Methodist Church. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the church.
