Paul Franklin Eskins

January 20, 1936 — July 20, 2010

Paul Franklin Eskins, 74, of Kenova, WV was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the Wurtland Rehabilitation & Nursing Facility. He was born in Pecks Mill, WV then moved to Huntington, WV where he retired from C&O Railroad after 42 years. He was proud to be a charter member of the Route 60 Freewill Baptist Church which he helped build. He had been a 32nd Degree Mason of the Huntington Masonic Lodge #53, a Shriner with both Beni Kedem and El Hasa Temples. He was also known as Clog-O the clown but anyone that knew him knew he was a clown inside and out. His desire to make people happy and laugh will be greatly missed. Mr. Eskins was preceded in death by his mother Lena Mae Eskins, his father Rad Eskins, a son Michael Eskins, three sisters Margaret Glyeadgis, Velvia Clark, and Fonnie Hannah. Survivors include an angel of a wife he was married to for 25 years, Wanda Eskins, two precious daughters Patricia Lynn Trice Amis and her husband Stephen of Kenova and Pamela Kay Squirt Carter and her husband Larry of Ashland, KY. He was also blessed with four wonderful grandchildren of whom he was so proud of and gave special names to. Stephen Paul Bub Amis and his wife Jacqueline of Huntington, Carrie LaDawn Annie Amis and her fianc Shawn Merritt of Kenova, Nathan Boyd Bo Carter and his fianc Renea Miller of Ashland, KY, Jeremy Ryan Buster Carter and his girlfriend Samantha Boggs. Other survivors include two brothers Johnny Eskins and his wife Irene of Pecks Mill, WV, Herbert Eskins of Chicago, IL; two sisters Louise Wilson of Huntington and Frances Jordan of Charleston; two very special friends Elaine Stull and Kermit Harshbarger along with a host of several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Wurtland Nursing and Rehab, Ashland Fresenium Dialysis Center, and Cabell Huntington Wound Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Friday at the Route 60 Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Richard Fluty, Rev. Dale Maddy, and Rev. Doug Booten officiating. Burial will follow in the Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9pm Thursday at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home.
