PRESTON BURGESS 'STU' STEWART, 48, of Huntington, left this life in the loving arms of Angels to arrive into heaven in Jesus? arms where he is whole and well again on Sunday, December 14, 2003. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Emmanual Community Church, 445 Adams Ave., Huntington, by Pastor Phil Chapman. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Stu was born on April 4, 1955, in Huntington, a son of Margaret Barker Stewart of Ironton, Ohio, and the late Fred D. Stewart. He graduated from Ironton High School in 1974 and also from Shawnee State University in 1986 with an Associate Degree through the RT program. Stu was employed at the Huntington VA Medical Center as a Radiological Technologist from 1987 through March 2003. He was employed at King?s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Ky., from March through May 2003 in the Pain Care Center, and worked part time at Family Urgent Care, 5th Street, Huntington. Stu was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Vietnam era from 1974 through 1978. Stu was a dedicated Children?s Church Minister for over two years, touching hearts of many, and a very spiritual choir member who loved his Savior. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frederick C. Stewart. Stu is survived by his most beloved wife, whom he married on December 15, 1994, Karen Estep Stewart, who loved and adored him from the time the Lord orchestrated their first meeting. In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law, Stephen and Jennie Brown of Ceredo, Ryan Anthony Stewart and Erik Darnell Stewart, both of Ironton, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Ashley Rose and Jerry Riedel of Glendale, Ariz.; a grandson, Braidge Malya Brown of Ceredo; his most cherished and loved sister and brother-in-law, Ella Stewart and David Parker of Lexington, Ky., and their precious children, Rachel and John Parker and his other sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Joseph Sloan of Ironton and their children, Travis, Maggie and Joe Sloan; two special nephews, Tommy and Billy Stewart; a very special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rick and Sandra Stover; a brother-in-law and his fiance, David Estep and Marion Combs of Oak Island, N.C.; a very special friend whom he considered as his brother, Eddie Hosey, another very special friend,Gary Moser, and his very, very special radiology coworkers and doctors at the Huntington VA Medical Center. The family wishes to thank the oncology staff at King?s Daughters Medical Center for their outstanding care and loving spiritual support of Preston. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington. Mr. Stewart will be taken to the church one hour before the services. Howard P. Hall VFW Post 1064 of Huntington will conduct military graveside rites. 'To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.'
