Prudence Eloise Murphy

Prudence Eloise Murphy, 93 of Lavalette, WV passed away on February 6, 2014 at Heritage Center, Huntington, WV with her loving family by her side. She was born on March 7, 1920 in Wayne County, WV, a daughter of the late Grover E. Adkins and Nola Blanche McCoy. She was the wife of Elmer Grant Murphy who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by siblings Eula Lee Bryant, Glenn, Richard, Robert and Larry Adkins and Mary Paluskievicz. Prudence worked outside the home as a Comptometer operator but spent many more years as a homemaker. Later in life, she was the owner of Countryside Antiques at Central City, Huntington, WV. She leaves behind to mourn her loss her children Michael Wade Murphy (Beth), Mary Ann Murphy Rowe (Larry) and Leslie Lynn Murphy (William �Butch� Gibson). Also surviving are her grandchildren Heather Wheeler (Tony), Reta Collins (Marc), Wade Grant Murphy (Catherine) and Mitchell Grant Gibson; great-grandchildren Reid and Sulley Collins and Oakley and Vance Wheeler; three sisters Betty Mynes, Patricia Graham (Jack) and Nancy Young (Leon) and many special nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at noon with Pastor Scott Byard officiating.
