Rebecca D. Evans

Rebecca D. Evans, 98, of Huntington, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017 at her residence. A memorial service will be conducted by Rev. Teresa Deane on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 7 pm at the Reger Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park at a later date. Rebecca was born on July 28, 1918 in Fort Gay, WV to the late Sheridan Yates and Alice Maynard Dobbins. She was a retired employee for Owens-Illinois Glass Co. She attended Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church, she deeply loved her family and enjoyed her time with them at her home. She was extremely close with her sisters before they passed away. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband; Alton Miller Evans, her son; James Michael Evans, one brother; Paul Dobbins, and seven sisters; Dorothy Erickson, Patty Mullins, Joann Waugh, Josephine Young, Eva Diggart, Beulah Johnson, and Mabel Johnson. She is survived by her daughter; Judy Wade of Huntington, a daughter-in-law; Vicki Evans of Pittsburgh, PA, six grandchildren; Jill and John Cheek, Margaret and Brian FitzGerald, Mike Evans, and Jessica Wade, five great grandchildren; Colin and Molly FitzGerald, Andrew Evans, Gabriela and Isaac Wade, and several nieces and nephews.
