Richard Douglas Murphy

Richard Douglas Murphy, 60, of Lexington, KY died Sunday, November 6, 2011 at his home. He was born April 19, 1951 In Williamson, WV to the late Adron and Ruth (Edwards) Murphy. Mr. Murphy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a former member of the Young Thundering Herd Football Team, a former Sgt. of Ceredo VFD and later a Captain of E.M.S. Chattaraugus, NY. He united in marriage to Joan Murphy who survives. Other survivors include his daughters Kindra Murphy of Portersville, PA and Elizabeth Murphy of Lexington, KY; grandchildren Dylan & Ryan Dutton along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral ceremonies will be conducted at 12:30 Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Shawnee Dr. in Huntington with Mike Stevenson officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
