Rita L. Curry Ross

Mrs. Rita L. (Curry) Ross, 80, of Huntington, West Virginia, passed away after a long illness surrounded by loved ones on Jan 22, 2018. Rita was born November 25, 1937, in Logan, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late James Lark Curry and Bessie (Chafin) Curry. Rita was a graduate of Marshall University and became a school teacher with Wayne County Schools. She loved gardening, decorating, and building decks. Rita was a community leader for anything her children were involved with including Girl Scouts, Tigerettes and Little League Sports. Rita was preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry David Ross; three brothers; Elbert, JL, Bobby, two sisters; Patty and Joyce. Survivors include a daughter, Terri Lynn Rice of Huntington, WV; one son, Scott David Ross (Mitzi) of Charleston, WV and daughter, Sherri L. Ross (Scott) of Huntington, WV, three brothers; Tommy, Gene, George, two sisters; Virginia and Debra, seven grandchildren; Ryan (Whitney), Randy (Kayla), April, Angie, Annie (Adam), Amanda and Melea, 18 great grandchildren, many neices and nephews and special friends, Robert and Lena Shell of Barboursville, WV. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Saturday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Ronnie Ross. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington.
