Robert Joseph Pierro

Robert Joseph Pierro, 73, of Huntington, passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, at the VA Medical Center in Huntington. He was born August 29, 1943, in Huntington, the son of the late Carmine Anthony and Mary Jane Bussard Pierro. He retired from Special Metals Corporation and served in the United States Air Force. He was a graduate of St. John Central High School in Bellaire, Ohio, and had also attended St. Joseph Central Catholic High School in Huntington. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Huntington. Bob was the loving husband of Betty Ray Prince Pierro, who survives him. He also is survived by three children and their spouses: Angela Renee Kummer and Corby Mead and Susan Marie and Mike Ferguson, all of Huntington, and Clifford Anthony Pierro and Tara Marie Novick of South Charleston. He has two grandchildren: Emily Marie Ferguson of Huntington and Joseph Anthony Pierro of South Charleston; and two step-grandchildren: Adara Erin Mead and Adrianna Danielle Mead. He also is survived by two brothers and a sister: John Pierro of Columbus, Ohio, Marilyn Sabolsice and her husband, David Sabolsice, of Worthington, Ky., and Mike Pierro of Ironton, Ohio. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at Reger Funeral Home, 1242 Adams Ave., Huntington, WV 25704. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, by Father Charles McGinnis, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2015 Adams Ave., Huntington, WV 25704. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast, 100 Veterans Memorial Drive, Greenup County, KY 41143.
