Robert Theodore Keown

Robert Theodore Keown, 83, of Huntington, WV went to his heavenly home on December 18, 2016 at Madison Park Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born on June 30, 1933 in Chattanooga, TN; a son of Leonard Leander Keown and Dema Eugenia Bridges Keown. He was a member of the Spring Valley Freedom Baptist Church and an ordained minister. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sylvia May Thomas Keown, a granddaughter, Ann Elyse Ellis, his sister, Faye Tanner, brothers-in-law, Earl Tanner, Alfred Quinton and Bryan Rose. He leaves behind to mourn his loss his children Laura Keown, Theodore �Ted� Keown (Charla), Cynthia �Cindy� Ellis (Don) and Priscilla Midkiff (Scott). Surviving are his 7 grandchildren: Jessica Rutherford (Dustin), Chelsi McLain (Nicholas), Kristen Keown, Nicole Keown, Mitchell Ellis, Ryon Andreae, Michael Ellis and 2 great �grandchildren Aubrey Rutherford and Haydin McLain. Two sisters, Thelma Quinton and Iva Rose also survive him. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you to the staff at Madison Park and Grayson Assisted Living, Dr. Drew Apgar, Pastor Pat Elliott, and his church family for all their support, care, cards and gifts. His cremains will be buried at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. A Memorial Service for Robert will be held at Spring Valley Freedom Baptist Church, Huntington, WV, on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. with visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Online condolences may be expressed to the family below.
