Robert Wesley "Bob" Gallaher, Jr.

Robert Wesley “Bob” Gallaher, Jr., 80, of Huntington, WV, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on October 12, 1944, in Huntington, WV, Bob was the son of the late Robert and Nell Vass Gallaher. He graduated from Huntington East High School in 1962, launching a life dedicated to hard work and a love for the outdoors. In his early years, Bob served as a firefighter for the City of Huntington. He later founded Gallaher Homes, Inc., building a legacy as a respected building contractor for over 50 years. In addition, he owned and operated Gallaher Rentals, Inc. His work was not only a career but a reflection of his commitment to craftsmanship and integrity. Bob’s impact as a builder is evident throughout the Tristate area where many of the homes and buildings he constructed stand as a testament to his skill and dedication. Beyond his professional achievements, Bob was a passionate outdoorsman who found joy in fishing and hunting. He cherished time spent in nature, sharing these pastimes with family and friends. Bob is survived by his children: Michelle Gallaher (David Taddeo), Melanie Gallaher (Mark Petry), Robert Gallaher, Melinda Gallaher, Meredith Lafferty (Patrick), and Kim Bravo. He leaves behind his grandchildren: Cassandra, Morgan, Justin, Madison, Madeline, Marlana, Alicia, Gabby, Forrest, and Aubrey. He is also survived by his siblings: Linda Beever, Debbie (Lyle) Henderson, and Gregory Gallaher (Danah Bowman). The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Chris Braley and the entire team at Braley Home Care for their kindness and support during Bob’s final days.

Visitation will be from at 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, January 17, 2025 at the Reger Funeral Home in Huntington. After a brief eulogy, the procession will leave for Spring Hill Cemetery. A graveside service will be conducted at 12:30 pm at Spring Hill Cemetery. Burial will follow. Pallbearers will be Robert Gallaher, Mark Petry, Justin Wheatley, Kenny Ratliff, Andy Barber, Adam Barber and Richard Cook.
