Rodney Lee Meredith, 73, of Ironton, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 13, 2023 at his residence. A funeral service will be conducted by Minister Jeff Garrett on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 11 am at the Reger Funeral Chapel, Huntington. Military graveside rites will be conducted at the funeral home by American Legion Post 93 of Kenova. Rodney was born on March 21, 1949 in Huntington, WV to the late Raymond and Phyllis Rutherford Meredith. Rodney was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a mess cook during his time in the U.S. Navy. Rodney was a member of American Legion Post 93 of Kenova; and a member of the VFW 5844 Holden Memorial Post, Holden, Missouri. He was a deacon at his church in San Antonio, Texas. Rodney was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and enjoyed riding his motorcycle in his free time. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Sergent; and three uncles, Jerry, Clifford, and Frank Rutherford. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Ruby Meredith; four children, Cassie Meredith, Rachel Rodriguez, Anthony Cardwell, and Christopher (Veronica) Rodriguez; twelve grandchildren, Devan, Nicci, Raelyn, Ashtyn, Brayden, Shayla, Addy, Christopher, Rodney Lee, Alyssa, Sophia, and Ava; three great grandchildren, Harmony, Anna, and Zen; three brothers, Michael Meredith, Charles (Julie) Meredith, and William (Melissa) Meredith; one sister, Lorna Hall; a host of nieces and nephews; and several furry friends, his companion boxer, Daisy; blue healer, Roy; and rooster, Dennis.
