Ronald Clayton Ray

Ronald Clayton Ray (78) of Lesage, West Virginia passed away on November 4, 2023 after a short battle with cancer at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Ronald (Ronnie) was born on October 21, 1945 in Kenova, WV. He was the son of the late Donald and Ilene Ray of Huntington. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and he was stationed in Korea as part of his service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 93, a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1064. He was a lifetime member of the DAV. He was an avid golfer, it was something that brought him so much joy. On the course is where he developed many wonderful friendships that have lasted a lifetime. Surviving him are one brother, Pete Ray (Lowvella) of Huntington. One Uncle, Donnie (Dale) Powell of Kenova. His daughter, Robin Hollowell of Peoria, Ariz.; his son, Kevin Ray of Phoenix, Ariz.; two bonus children he helped raise, Stephanie Chockley and Shannon Miller. His grandchildren, Chris (Kendall) Hollowell of Houston, Texas, Stephen Hollowell of Peoria, Ariz., Korbin and Kaelin Ray of Phoenix, Ariz. His partner and love of his life, Nancie Midkiff and their dog Molly. His nieces Nicole (Jason) Chute of Huntington, Natalie (Kenny) Zigmond of Winfield. His great nephew and nieces, Benjamin, Ella and Avery Chute, Kenlie and Kallie Zigmond. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Visitation will be from 5-6pm and a service will start at 6pm on Wednesday, November 8th, 2023 at Reger Funeral Home and Chapel 1242 Adams Avenue Huntington, WV 25704.
