Roy Glenn Marcum passed away on October 5, 2023, with his family surrounding him in his final days. He fought like a warrior as he battled cancer the past few years, just like a true Marine would do. Roy was preceded in death by his wife and partner of 58 years, Marian Louise Marcum. He is survived by his five children son, Victor (Mary) Marcum; daughters, Sheroma (Curt) Funke, Robin Pachinger, Sandy (Andrew) Arline, Elizabeth (Eddie) Lochmayer. Nine grandchildren, Aaron (Annie) Funke, Christopher (Kate) Marcum, Joshua (Robyn) Funke, Erica (Scott) Schieber, Brian (Jenna) Pachinger, Andrea, Alexandria, &
Olivia Arline, Victoria McMillian; and nine great-grandchildren, Emmaline & Thea Funke, Max & Miles Marcum, Ryan & Elle Funke, Gavin & Carson Schieber, JJ Pachinger. Roy was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he served his country in the Korean War, as a Staff Sergeant (SSgt). Roy was very active in the Marine Corps League, Huntington Detachment #340, Captain of the Honor Guard. American Legion Post #16, Huntington,WV. Roy and his late wife, Marian, worked together in the auction business for over 50 years, in Ohio and West Virginia They ran the Tri-State Auction Center, and Marcum Auction and Realty Company. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, from 6:00pm-8:00pm, at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington, with a service to start immediately after. Burial on is private for family only.
