Ruth E. Gue

Ruth E. Gue, 83, of South Point, OH, formerly of Kenova, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 9, 2007. She was born December 25, 1923 in Catlettsburg, KY a daughter to the late William Cantrell and Carrie Nance Cantrell. Mrs. Gue was a homemaker and was of the Protestant faith. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald. Survivors include five daughters, Carolyn & Buddy Whitt of South Point with whom she made her home, OH, Marilyn Sue & Kenneth Fannin of Rush, KY, Judith Ann & Roy Hamilton of Pikeville, KY, Debra & Harold Sparkman of Kenova, & Shirley Conley of Catlettsburg, KY. She is also survived by five sons, Don & Karen Gue of South Point, OH, Bennie Gue of Catlettsburg, KY, Larry & Pamela Gue of Ceredo, WV, Phillip Gue of Dalton, GA, and David Gue of Ashland, KY. She was preceded in death by two daughters Karen Smith and Doris Shepherd. Additional survivors include one sister, Pauline Helms of Ashland, KY, and two sisters-in-law Myrtle Burgess of Kenova, WV and Essie Smith of Catlettsburg, KY. Mrs. Gue also leaves behind 29 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren all whom she dearly loved along with a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her family, she leaves behind a very special friend Ruth Harrod. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00pm Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Crum officiating. Burial will follow in the Docks Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Monday at the funeral home.
