Ruth Elizabeth Moreland

Ruth Elizabeth Moreland, 88, of Huntington, died Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Madison Park Assisted Living Center in Huntington. She was born June 29, 1922 in Winding Gulf, WV to the late Floyd L. and Elsie Lee (Ailstock) Thomas. Mrs. Moreland was a retired Registered Nurse of 42 years and Director of Nursing at the former Fairhaven Rest Home in Huntington. She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis H. Moreland. Survivors include a daughter Sandy Pridemore of Huntington, a grandson Joey (Bobbie) Christian, a great-granddaughter Addison Elizabeth Christian. Additional survivors include four brothers, John (Wanda) Thomas of Coal City, WV, Jack (Rosemary) Thomas of Coal City, WV, Bob (Barbara) Thomas of Oak Hill, WV, Jim (Connie) Thomas of Oakhurst, CA, and two sisters Betty and Mary Lee Thomas both of Coal City, WV. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Valley Memory Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral.
